Wisdom From The Nameless Sage
The Great Wise Master with no name, whose realization is equal to those who live above the clouds. All worldly teachings of mind and view were possessed in his pocket. He owned a divine freedom that even death left him alone.
Trekking up the high mountains of Tochen, I journeyed to meet him.
Then the Master with No Name appeared before me.
I explained all that was me, laying bare all my insecurities and questions to life. I beseeched him for the desperate answers I sought. I longed to know the path to the highest in all aspects of life, for worldly success, godly performance, and phenomena of Nirvana.
The master responded. "For such answers comes with a sacrifice. Are you willing to give up the ultimate price?"
"What is the ultimate price, I asked?"
He replied, "Your Self."
I started to sweat like a pig in a butcher.
Until I met him, I followed wagon-load of monkeys with one half brain missing. But then destiny led me to a grand master, who I instinctively knew was the master of all masters, a true master of the highest reality.
He told me. "All that you been taught is wrong. You have taken in the world, and the world has filled your mind with conditionings. Go back home and do not return until you have understood this reality."
Perplexed and disheartened, I lingered.
I was confused. Could everyone really be wrong? What does he mean i'm influence by society's conditioning? What are conditionings? Is my thoughts not my own?
I was left frustrated and confused.
With the passage of time, the truth struck with the force of a lightning bolt of revelation, and things became suddenly apparent.
I finally understood.
Questions further swarmed. Urgently, I hurried back to the master. Sensing my new level of awareness, he observed my enthusiasm and eagerness to learn more.
I perched by his feet, as a eager devotee.
And thus the following conversation.
*
Q: Master, What is the Path to Phenomenal Success?
M: You are blind into believing a singular path exists. Do not be deceived into thinking that there is a specific route to worldly achievements. Beware of the deceptions of fake gurus who prey the gullible. Direct aiming for success rarely achieves success. Success is about the human first, rather than the actual entrepreneurship. Success is pathless, nonlinear that cannot be clearly formulated.
Undeniable victory comes to those whose acceptability of anything other than triumph. It is a heartfelt relationship between love and craft.
Nevertheless, men like you often find themselves entangled in illusions and fantasies. These enchantments stifle your intellectual insight to craft and move you through the nature of over-identification. Soo occupied with excessive thinking, your accomplishments define you. Achievements become your shackles. You cannot live without paralyzing thoughts and feelings. And you are overly invested in accomplishments.
Live your days without any rigid notions or strict agendas. Instead, allow the learning to immerse you and trust your intuition to lead the way. This approach will make the path to success more enjoyable than simply hoping for it to happen.
Q: Then please Master, Bestow me an Instruction on how to think the Greatest Thoughts.
M: There is no cultivation to greatest thinking. Seeing ultimate reality is the truth. Seeing is experiencing. Unconditioned truths is not a object the mind can grasp. It does not belong to categories. Let go of cleverness, for the intellect is not necessary.
A genuine quest for learning already nests within you, naturally leading you to acquire knowledge to whatever inspires you. You don't need to search outside yourself for practice.
Practice? Instructions? Who should be doing all of that?
Realization cannot be cultivated, harvested, practiced, or even accomplished through effort. It is like a moth, by its nature, which gravitates towards the light without effort. Mental activities are pleasure highs that bind you to the rope of ambition. You will seek the answers in non-action.
Let go of intellectualism, for cultivation is not necessary. What inspires you, you will grow into. What does not, will not.
Q: I do not understand.
M: You do not understand because you're still thinking, rather than experiencing. Time will allow the understanding sink into your bones.
Q: Master, what is the secret to godly performance?
M: Listen closely, for performance is inherent, germinating within you since early growth of training. Free from conscious striving. This means performance is shaped in the unseen realms of your subconscious. It unfolds without effort.
The question is not how does great performance arises, but rather, understanding great performances is a side effect from the subconscious.
The words "what is the secret" imply that there is a direct way to achieve performance. But none exists. Not by technique nor method can it be won.
You are using intention to arise performance. When performance flows intuitively without conscious effort.
Q: Master, What is the path to Greatness?
Deleted.
(Separate discourse - warrants a deeper explanation)
Q: Please, Master, What is the way to permanent Nirvana? How did you come to be this way?
M: Upon realizing the true nature of reality. There can only be the dissolution of myself totally and completely. Free from any labelling. I am neither object nor mind. Therefore, I am not anything or anyone. These labels are created by the worldly people.
Being free from thinking gives way to being free from likes and dislikes. And when free from that, you will be free from the need to be secure. And free from that, you will be free from the need to be anyone. Becoming free from identification, you will be free from any bondage dreams. Freedom from fixated on your own existence, you will be free from death.
Whatever pass through passes through. Even spirituality is no longer my concern. For there is nothing to practice as there is nowhere to get to. I am content here and entertained by your silly face.
Q: Great Master, I live in a metropolitan city with aspirations. Do I need to abandon worldly activities to achieve Nirvana?
M: Not at all.
If ambition is a natural desire that blossoms within you, allow it free reign. Nirvana manifests in countless ways in every aspect of life.
The great man wants a great challenge in athletics, business or leadership. He want things to be challenging yet non-bondage. Outstanding accomplishments should be pursued in an imperfect way, as there is no perfect way.
Nirvana, No Mind, Mushin occurs in every moment of life. It has always existed and is always breathing within you. There is no living one way and living in another. All can be interwind within you.
He wants things to be challenging yet non-bondage.
This is the universal ideal.
M: There is another I want you to meet, for the particular questions you search for is suited to this master's expertise...
