Shiraowo- The White Mountain War
Japan (1602) Battle of Ikebukuro: Pt 2
Athlete's Zone and Everyday Flow
Ryuki falls from his horse,
His now in the middle midst of a chaotic battlefield,
He gets back up. He stands poised.
The clash of swords,
The cries of warriors,
Blood stains the fields of Shiraowo mountain, like crimson petals lies, painting the earth red.
Then the tumult of war fades into the background.
Time seemed to slow down, narrowed to the flash of steel and the rhythm of Ryuki's breath.
His senses honed to razor-sharp precision as the clamor of battle fades into a distant hum. His movements became fluid and effortless, each strike precise and powerful, as if guided by an unseen force.
His every action is like a dance of lethal elegance.
One who strides through the clouds, seamlessly navigating the heavens, untouched by worldly concerns.
Ryuki is in the zone

The zone is where your greatest work unfolds,
those days when everything you touch turns to gold,
when mastery and creativity dances like ancient spirits,
the flow with ease, speed and demand at will
and you marveled at the endless possibilities within you.

As with all great quests, the journey to No-Mind begins by unveiling what it is not. By peeling away layers of false teachings from nonsensical nitwits, truth is revealed.
Firstly, the zone cannot be reached through techniques like breathing exercises, meditations, spiritual or mental concentrations such as visualizations, positive imagery or through some sort of workflow organization with intent to induce flow states.
Nor is it anything to do with mental toughness.
Heres where sport psychologists, Steven Kotler and others who teach how to enter the zone fall short... The more you use mind to enter no-mind, the more you remain trapped within the mind itself...because no mind is NO THOUGHTS.
The very act of using THOUGHT to enter the zone where there is NO THOUGHT is a contradiction. (Not one that works)
The zone IS No-mind, which is devoid of any type of strategizing to enter its zone. Because strategizing is thought ! In fact, you often entered the zone purely by accident. The times when you found yourself effortlessly engaged for hours, it felt as though you were granted a sudden burst of extraordinary instinct with swift, intuitive reaction.
You didn't arrive there through deliberate thought; You somehow arrived there because the task itself pulled you in with its captivating allure.
The question then arises, can one access the zone at will?
Absolutely.
But it will require you go on a particular journey...
TRUTH
In order to live no-mind permanently, you must first become nothing.
Flow states are side effects of the human who transcends all worldly attachments, the obliteration for any validation or following any mental austerities to get somewhere.
Where there is anxiety...there is thoughts !
Where there is winning and losing, personal gain and losses...there is thoughts!
Where there is mental practices to enter no thoughts... there are still thoughts !
But where there is desirelessness...there is no thoughts - only the pure flow of aliveness of everyday life.
Therefore, nothing in this world can touch one.
When one becames nothing.
When not even near death affects you.
You suddenly become everything nature intended you to be.
In other words, you'll achieve Buddhahood.
(This power is what made Tiger Woods so formidable, a theme we will explore in the future)

Ryuki's trigger to the zone was triggered by the sight and adrenaline.
The mere sight of his enemy elicts flow. There was no time to think or practice mental austerities to enter flowstate. There just is.
In sport, the opponent is the trigger to the zone.
In your own sport and everyday life, think about all the things you longed for, hoped to achieve and dreamed of becoming.
What if these desires are linked to negative emotions such fear, overthinking, anxiety that slows you down to achieving them?
What if they prevent you from the zone?
What If, by releasing all attachment to anything in this life...maybe you'll became superhuman with no-mind and achieve everything you once thought unattainable...

On the plains of Shiroawa, the warrior named Ryuki was ready to die. He dissolved into nothingness, surrendering himself to Nature. Yet, within that void, a spark ignited, birthing form from nothingness into being.
It was the pure freedom of everything... no-mind unlocked the zone...
